About the Artist
Gustavo Aceves is a prominent Mexican artist known for his striking paintings of human figures characterized by monumental dimensions and vibrant colors typical of Mexican murals. His artistic career started back in the 70s and has taken his works to prestigious institutions such as the Museum of the Palace of Fine Arts of Mexico City, the Venice and Beijing Biennale and the Vatican Museums in Rome. His most notable project “Lapidarium”, features large-scale sculptures that explore fragments of human history. These works, mainly made of marble and bronze, through the figure of the horse and focus on the topic of immigration. The traveling installation has been exhibited in places such as Berlin commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.
