About the Artist
Born in 1959 in Crimea, Ukraine, Tanya Wissotzky and Alexander Galtchansky, after separate art school educations, continued their studies at the Kiev Institute of the Arts. Wissotzky focused on painting, while Alexander pursued book illustration. After marrying, they moved to Israel, collaborating in acrylic, pen and ink, and collage on prepared canvas. Their still lifes incorporate calligraphic excerpts and nostalgic quotes, evoking 1920s Paris. Their acclaimed work is displayed globally, featured in exhibitions from New York to Hamburg. Permanent exhibitions include Binyanei Hauma in Jerusalem, with their life and work explored in a published book.
